Philosophy

The philosophy and founding principles of the International Budo Institute are that of equality and universality. What this means is that The Institute considers all martial arts as fundamentally worthy of the same level of respect regardless of origin. Moreover, the Institute believes that all members of the Institute whether they be a student, teacher or affiliate of The Institute are to be regarded as equal to all others regardless of creed, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation or age. That is, The Institute will be open to all.

With learning and personal growth comes tolerance. With increased tolerance of one another comes peace. It is hoped that through the study of Budo the student may gain self-understanding by developing their character fully and through increased confidence and courage take part completely in society and their community.
